Diy bat wall decor

So excited for fall and Halloween we got started quick this year. Last year I did the bats going up my wall and it was such a big hit I got so many compliments on it. This year I knew I wanted them to come out of the fireplace.



We used a black poster board from the dollar store last year. Those held up fine so I was able to reuse them this year. I didn't have quite enough to go all the way up to the ceiling from the fireplace, so I looked at what I had around the house and just used some of my kids black construction paper.


I folded the paper into fours and cut out the bat shape. None of them are perfectly cut out bats but you can't really tell once they are hung up. I hung then up with duck tape.

Bend the sides of the wings so they become more 3d. Then vailoa!! I would say this diy cost under 2$ not factoring in the time to cut them out and put tape on the back. But if you have kids I'm sure they love to help.

Shop around too, I bet you can find them cheaper. Amazon likes to sell alot of the same stuff at different prices. So I would say look at quantity and size. I like the different sizes in bats. It took me about 50 bats to go up my fireplace if that helps as a reference.

Apple picking in Vegas

We went to Gilcrease orchard today! My son Liam learned last week in school all about apples and apple orchards. So what better time then fall to go. It's free entry so you just pay for the fruits and vegetables you pick. You can use a bag they hand out they also have wheel barrels. The wheel barrels were just laying around also free to use.  We went early cause it's still getting up to high 90°s here in Vegas. It was about 80° it felt perfect. The kids loved everything about it. Liam was a pro apple picker he showed us how to properly pick them off the trees. I loved the rows of trees and the mountains in the background it really was so beautiful. They also had a huge pumpkin patch a real patch! Halloween Bat branch diy

It's end of September and its starting to cool down especially in the morning and night. We  started decorating the house the kids love to just do their own thing. But I love to do my own thing as well. Last year I was looking up easy cheap Halloween décor probably like a lot of you out there.  I seen these black branches with bats on them. Come to find out its super cheap and you can make a ton for under 2$ ill post a quick video I did on Instagram  below. Here is what you need: 1.
